I prefer to paint people from observation, that means you will have to sit for me in my studio or your home. I will need about five 3 hour mornings of your time. These are split up in 20 minute sessions with breaks for stretching, coffee etc. Children from about 7 years old are able to sit for portraits in short 10 minute sessions with the help of audiobooks and lots of treats.

A portrait from life is not a snapshot, is not done in a fraction of a moment. It takes days of work to complete. So a big smile is unnatural, as it would be impossible for the sitter to have sustained it. This means that I can not paint a big grin in a portrait painted from life. A real life sitter will always look more serious or pensive after a while. 

I gladly travel to paint portraits abroad.

Below you can find some price indications for commissions. Prices are always agreed upon beforehand. For complicated subjects, larger paintings or detailed background, there may be a supplement. Please don't hesitate to contact me with your ideas.

I make formal portraits, child portraits, pet portraits, adult portraits and family portraits, small or large. Combinations of people and animals can work very well too!

Price indication for one subject, VAT included. Travelling expenses, complicated backgrounds, other extras and framing  not included.
